Presently, biomass nerfs an alien's ability to heal its armor.
Example: I have 250/250 base hp, 0/20 bio hp, 0/150 armor. Currently I will heal my biomass hp with regen first, this gives me half as much effective hp as armor would have in most cases. This is especially important vs pistol damage.
Fix: Heal biomass HP last.

No really. Trying to code health regen to work that way sounds too complicated. I see your point, but I just don't think it's easy.

I love the idea - Throw that to UWE too on their forums. Its a very small thing, but it just makes things a bit more right imo, and that makes me happy. :3

wouldn't changing what biomass gives you solve the issue?
have the biomass give Armour that results in the same eHP as it currently gives you... problem solved?

You are way overthinking this. This is not a problem, its in how you are thinking about HP and healing vs damage.

...really... you are overthinking it.. IF you take 200 damage as a fade, even if you had 1000 biomass HP.. it will take the same amount of time to heal.. and you will start healing armor at exactly the same time.

Dragon is right, healing takes the same amount of time
The only difference is if you take more damage that the extra hp that biomass 2 gives you then it takes an extra tick, but in reality the biomass hp just saved your ass.

FIne, Dragon's right -.- But I still believe the change would be beneficial. (See Simba's recent post. I'm all for hp increases)
