for more than a year now i and i think the whole ns1 community have just been using the discord as the
Real Forums. no one has any reason to visit this forum other then if you want the ns2 ensl members to hear about happenings in the ns1 community.
i've been looking for away to structure and reduce the overflow and mixing of topics in the discord. i believe a lot more could get done with a larger group of people being about to fallow what's being said. i thought it was an EZ fix "add more text chat channels". because now, many topics are not filtered but dumped in to the main chats. just a clustered hell of every last thing. it turns what would be a many different chats in to unsearchable unfollowable spam. with each idea disappearing in to the heavens never to be Read again.
having a simple list of topic structures on the side bar would help control all of this. yes there are some now. but we're finding its limits.
i did asked for more chat categories, in the suggestions
1st "NS1 promotion: planning".
2nd "NS1 Streaming: setup and questions"
i was given a less than thoughtful reply, that somehow extra categories to reduce the spam was going to make more spam...... the thought process there may have had something to do with Finnish culture...
as i was told i had the job of promoting ns1, i've been doing this for more than a year reaching out to every last NS player i can remember. and new ones i meet
i thought streaming was the number one way to reach the gaming world in today's age. it took alot of reading and learning for me to set it up and all of this information would be useful for others, as well i've been resorting to private msg with all of the ns1 members who stream for sharing tech tips.
as millions of people still play games from 35 years ago on their Nintendos, 17 year old ns1 is not dead and is only dead as you want it to be, if you take no action.
every step is forward.
