It's an old problem about my ns.The ns background always get stuck when i quit game.

windows 7? yeah, it never quits for me. i have to kill the process

you dont, kill hl.exe in the task manager

I have win7 and there is like a 50% chance that it doesn't get stuck. Dunno what's going on there though.

Although, I think this is the least of your problems at your location.

I got winXp and even my Hl gets stuck on quitting once in a while and i got to kill it with task manager ... IT IS JUST AN OLD GAME !

It doesnt do that with win7 as much as with vista. alt-ctrl-del, esc and then click the game when it goes white is imo fastest way to kill it.
