Hey, long time no see. It's less than one week until the NS meeting and I now have the general plan of the whole shebang. I can honestly say that this thing panned out exactly as I've hoped, we got the cabins full (I didn't have to take the last spot), they are already paid for and a restaurant is booked. I even drove to Vuosaari (the camping) and checked the place out, so it'll meet our epic standards. And it did. I liked the place. I took a overview of the place with me.
I've bought some small stuff already for the meeting, like icetea (in honour of Eistee) and some chips. Now don't afraid, that's not all I'm buying.
The things that will be served on Friday (aka BBQ). Steaks (Coca-cola marinade), a Greek salad (sun dried tomatoes, red onion with vinegar, mozzarella, rucola salad, black olives and so on) , a couple of beers (4 a piece), lasagna, sausages (bratwurst and regular-ass Finn sausages), icetea (lemon and peach), different kinds of chips (even bacon flavored). So I hope that will satisfy your taste.
Here's and overview of the camping area, if you look closely you see the circles around where the cabins are up top.
A sauna can be booked still (a family one, next to the cabins, you can see it on the map) for only 17 euros. I can pay it, if someone's up for it. Need atleast 4 peeps the give me a "woop woop" and I book it, the shit thing was that it can be booked only at 18.00, but I think we've eaten then already so it'll be kewl.
And regarding the Zinnkeller restaurant. They close their kitchen at 22.00 already, so I believe we have to scrap that idea and go with another restaurant. And I chose Manala (which means Purgatory in Finnish, I thought that was suitable for us). It's bigger and cheaper, they have traditional Finnish food and some more international cuisine and they close their kitchen at 04.00 so that's bloody epic. It's walking-distance from the railwaystation (we take the metro from the camping area). And the restaurant is located next to the parliament house and art museum and other fun shit, it's a really old building which is owned by the student fraternity of Ostrobothnia. http://www.botta.fi/
And regarding the request to document the fuck outta this meeting. I have a pretty decent camera (photo) and my friend offered to borrow his camera too (a film camera), and they have teh internetz on the camping area for like 5 euros, so we could hook up some streaming shit if we'd like if someone brings their laptop. And of course we will take lots of photos and film it.
People from Helsinki have to pay an extra sum of 5 euros for entering the camping area, but this is easily overcome by just walking past the info. But generally everyone should pay that lousy sum, just so we have that out of our conscious.
And who for the umpteenth time will come to the NS meeting, who are the official dudes with all their glory intact and flies by the wind of the eagles:
