Judging by most of the replies, this topic should read "YOU SHOULD NOT POST IN BECAUSE YOU HAVE NOTHING SENSIBLE TO SAY".
I'm not knocking your effort though, but I'm not sure if I can find the motivation write anything useful. Frankly, the game looks like it's going to be boring and a chore to play.

Okay, that last sentence may have been a bit harsh in retrospect. But yeah. I'm worried.

Yeah fair enough, most people started blindly debating what size games should be played at with no arguments to back it up, not that it's even relevant to the topic. I guess I was hoping to flag up the topic and get some useful opinions from organisers because who the fuck even knows if the devs have ever thought about the community level effects their design decisions make?

Yeh, it's a bit tricky. On the other hand I'd like to keep responding to posts to encourage people to participate, but looks like it's not going to any productive direction atm.

I don't suppose there's much room to explore the topic as it's pretty WYSIWYG. I tried to get it back on track a bit by posing a question we kind of already know the answer to.
I guess the most that can happen is trying to build the credibility of the concept in the eyes of the devs by voicing support for it. Although it's probably already too late for that why do i even care

It is useful topic, I'll respond whenever I bother writing full-length, coherent response.
There's a lot of text though. :p

A little verbose and essentially just fleshed-out common sense - but I suppose it needs to be said.
I've little faith that this is worth your time though. At this moment the devs don't appear to have any idea of what shape the structure of a game will take.
For example they recently removed the number of CCs affecting the available upgrades - that's pretty fucking major as far as gameplay goes.
However I must stress I dislike people harpooning debates because the game is unfinished. What I meant was that the character of the game was fluctuating wildly and might make this discussion difficult. It might be a good way of persuading them to remove alien comm though...

I'm shit at brevity, what can I say? I was typing it essentially off the top of my head and I felt like if I just posted the barebones nobody would take notice

Also I'm secretly hoping to somehow expose the developer's commitment to a good competitive game as the simple lip service that it is.
