I personally enjoyed the many matches in an evening. Lots of games played against lots of different teams. It was great fun and no problem for our team and most others from what I know. But if anyone else who played have other opinions about this, please post it here so we can improve towards what the people that actually play, would like us to do.
I really believe that those weekend marathons for little cups or invitationals (preQual) are very good.
It makes people to focus and play several matches in a day, and make every team to improve and get better.
That kind of things makes NS(2) Community better than any other games communities, and allows both ENSL, NSL & NS2 to have more promo as a whole thing.
The last months of playing made me remember old times of NS1 Seasons, Night Cups and long days of pcws, and that was awesome.
I really want ENSL/NSL to host more of this cups (and OFC many NS2 Seasons :P ).
Thanks to all the admins, referees, casters and players that made that possible :)
Salutes
PD: After Season 2 (maybe 3) you should start thinking about a 2013 European/World Cup to encourage communities to chose a team and all the stuff we had on NS1.
I'd actually prefer the opposite; where you have all the matches played in a single day. Getting players organized and ready on two (or more) short days is much harder than one long day. At the worst, I'd like to see at least all preliminary/round robin group matches played on the same day and only postponing the final/semi-finals to the next if its gotten unreasonably late.
I think the one thing you can take from this conversation is that there isn't a one size fits all model.
From someone that has a job that includes working on a Saturday often until late, and with a older clan (many of which have children) then playing games betweeen 5pm and 8pm is pretty much out the question for many of us.
So I guess you can please some people some times, but you can't please all the people all the time.
I just don't see that running a cup and league have to be mutually exclusive in timings between each other. It is completely feasible to run a cup during the league rather than trying to cram 2 cups in during the off season? Giving the cups more time means people can organise a time to suit them and there is more of a steady flow of games rather than sudden rush of games a few days before a new patch comes out to change it all etc?
