Point disruption:

This Ladder rewards/motivates to "getgood" with your team.

the more games get played and/or won the higher you are going to rank in points.

There are extra points for the division you play in:

(1 time "Division Points." for a div3 and 3 times in div1 per match.)

(like this even a bad div1 team should still be ahead of the best div3 team.)
