Match Report

Origin

Fallen starts off with Furnace hive and captured ore and ventilation rts. Rawr built obs and sg-rushed. Hive goes down easily with no defense in place early enough. Rawr then proceeds to take down the rts and kill aliens.

1-0 to Rawr

I missed the game from the start because i was taking a dump. Rawr started off with Biodome hive, captured power core and ventilation rts right away. A little bit later rawr also built both double nodes with one dc on top. I don't really know what marines did from the start but i assume they went for obs and 2 sgs. Anyway, rawr took down base around 9:00 to the game but marines managed to relocate to ore. In the end the relocate didn't last long as marines didn't have too much resources and aliens had 2 hives and too many life forms and rts.

2-0 to Rawr


Orbital

Fallen starts off with Observatory hive then goes to capture J-turn, Bigroom and Generator rts. Meanwhile marines built an obs, dropped 2 sgs and a welder. Then they marched to J-turn with 4 marines, including the 2 sgs. The rt didn't go down but aliens lost their lerk to a shotgun. Fade goes up at around 3:00 to game, aliens still having 3 rts. Marines get a pg to hangar junction and drop 2 sgs. 5:00 to game aliens have 2 rts, hive going up in generator room, one fade and two lerks. Marines have 4 rts, A1 and they're starting to push towards generator with sgs. Around 7:30 second hive goes up, aliens now have 2 fades, 2 lerks, 2 hives with mcs and scs. 8:45 Rawr f4's.

2-1 to Rawr

Rawr got Observatory hive as well immidiately captures J-turn and Bigroom but leaves generator empty. Marines built observatory and armslab right almost immidiately, dropped one sg. Contagious then sent the sg with one lmg to J-turn, while some other marines pressured bigroom rt. Bigroom goes down, marines quickly capture most of the rts on the map with 2 marines while the others pressure off the mainhive area. 4:30 to game, marines have A1, W1 and 4 rts but no pgs.
Aliens have 3mcs, 2 rts, hive growing in hangar a fade and a lerk plus some skulks pressuring marine rts. Marines then get pgs to pressure control and big room to hold rts and for some pressure on hangar hive. One marine recapping all the time and jps are up. Fade died and jps pushed to hangar with lerk umbraing and focus skulks taking down the jps the push failed. Marines lose some of their rts and the pgs but they soon gained back the control over generator hive area.
14:30 to game, aliens now have 4rts and 2 fades. Marines only have 3 rts, one jp with sg with A1 and W2 upgrades.Aliens soon overrun big room and drop generator hive. At this point marines are too much behind on tech and are loosing badly.


Game ends 3-1 to Rawr.

Nice match report, that shotgun rush really did effect our game play in the rounds after, was quite suprising - and rather unprofessional! Anyhow, bad luck on orbital marine side for us, if we took HA, would have been a different story.

Howdeh , i did the shotgun rush and i was surpised it work. We just wanted to use very surpising tactics since it was the last game. I don't get why shotgun rushing is a "unprofessional" tactic. If you had scouted the sg rush and prepared for it you would have won. If we did a sg rush with a pg later on would it have been "unprofessional" ? The main objective of that game was not really to win. We just wanted to have fun and try sum thing surpising. If you really can't see that i apolagize for ruining ur alein on orgin and we can scrim again for ur revenge if u so desire.

exactly , i mean you could of have a gorge build the oc instead and the team get back to hive. It wasn't all that fast of a rush. I still apolagize for the "lame" tactic and i take resposibilities for what ever problem it had caused =/

No, shotgun rushing doesn't show what the team can do, rushing a hive with shotguns isn't hard, every team could do that if they wanted. Though, our reaction to your rush was poor, and nobody can deny that. Its just unexpected in Division 2, knowing that the teams are actually capable of showing a good marine round.

And Beefi - It was obvious I know, 3 skulks in base looking out - no mistake. Poor reactions again, annoyed me also, but ah, we still have a chance. Good game anyhow.

The fact that your team was surprised, and suffered from a SG rush proves it is useful and it worked better then a normal marine round would.

Now you underperformed the next rounds because of it.
Shotgun rushes and simular should be used more often imo.

And HA would not have won, we had plenty of res with potential for onos if needed.

True Arj, it was surprising, and we did suffer from the SG rush - We had just listened to Eye of the Tiger and Pathy said, "LETS FUCK EM UP", 2mins later - we failed to an SG rush.

Tom, we didn't underperform, you played better than we did, we just weren't ready for a shotgun rush, and marine round we couldn't hold.

Losing our first round especially when we're ready, and alien is our best rounds, its a big shock to lose so soon, and you can't get it out your head, you say to yourself, ok, lets get the next 3 rounds, but theres too much frustration.

Doctor, don't apologise, you won, its pointless saying sorry when the point of ENSL is to get in as many points as possible, my main grudge on a shotgun rush, is that it shows no part of how the team has developed, and thats what most teams would expect in the final week. True, we weren't prepared, thats our fault. We're never come across a shotgun rush as a team - some say its common sense, but it requires teamwork.

i have the confidence in defending a sg rush(Maybe). It was just we got into the hive without any chanllenges. When u guys called sg rush right at the start you guys still had people munching at our base. forget out base go defend urs tbh. You say every team can sg rush easy? true if the other team is unprepared.

SG rushes arent used generally that often because it's simply too risky, and easily counterable. If you loose to one, you deserve to loose. :/ (YOU TOO FRP LOL)

Anyhow im glad Risme didn't emo out and only report 3 rounds this time.

Oh and, the jetpack usage of Fallen on orbital was absolutely retarded. Way to screw it up guys.
