Our NSL website has been old faithful for almost a decade, serving as the hub for major Natural Selection competitive events and news. Today, we're proud to unveil something that's been in the making for months. Our brand new web team has been working tirelessly and putting their nose to the grindstone and churned out something really special: a new layout, a facelift, bugfixes, optimizations, and much more. We can all thank csm, Simba, rantology, and jiriki for their devotion and getting this project moving along so quickly. Special thanks goes to the small team of early previewers who gave feedback on our first iterations too.
This site has been made by community members to support you. While using the site, if you encounter any problems or wish for features that are not yet implemented, let us know. We want to make the very best site and know that this will be a project that will continue to evolve and made better. We're off to a fantastic start and the web team is very excited and committed to making that happen.

Huzzah for a site that looks like it's from this decade! :P Looks good! Gotta go poke around a bit more to see how all the interior pages are but I do wanna mention one thing that bugs me.
Yeah, the font choice is kind of uh. Iffy? There are like 3 being used (Impact, Electrolize, and... Inder I guess). I think in this case it should be pretty easy to limit to two different font types and have a nice, coherent design. Probably one used for the body and one for the header and leave it as that since I don't think there's any real place to toss a third one that I can think of at this point.
Ditch Impact, use Electrolize if you wanna keep that but make sure it's consistent through all the header tags. Maybe make it bold since it is a fairly narrow font. Maybe force caps for it (small caps didn't look good when I was fussing with Stylish), but eh, would have to test it out more. Just get rid of Impact, ye olde font of memes, haha.
Anyway, my other gripe is that I just really don't like Inder as a body font -- I feel like it clashes rather than contrasts nicely and is to a point a bit harder to read. Electrolize actually seems to work reasonably well as a body font if you wanted to use that, even. Though if you dig through Google Fonts I know Open Sans and Dosis both might be alternate options for very legible body text.
I can do some mucking around in Stylish and see if I can get a cleaned up font selection tomorrow if you guys want or something. I may end up doing that for myself anyway, but if I do, might as well share with the class. :D
Edit: Also the fact you can click on the logo to go back to the index = awesome
Double Edit; Also now I can't unsee the tangents on the skulk in the logo. The muzzle is lined up with the top of the bar and the leg is lined up with the bottom. Fix pls. I kinda want to say either change the bottom positioning part of the CSS to either -5px or -20px, but neither look 100% awesome. Maybe making the logo slightly larger and then realigning it that way or something. I dunno. I just know that foot tangent is evil and I should go to bed.

I personally edited servers list for gathers. At the moment, you still can choose between 4 NSL servers (Chicago, London, Frankfurt & Paris) but only NSL Paris (NS2-Fr or onFire) are available. I'll do the same for custom maps soon.

It's better but I wish the stupid Agenda button would fuck right off. Also the font isn't that great.

like the website alot and i simply gonna repost my feedback that didnt got responded to or reacted in any kind of messageing back on steam forum or idk..:
3) The Gather button @top of the homepage should have the link "http://www.ensl.org/gathers/latest/ns2" so you allways get to the new gather after finishing playing the old one so you alt+tab to the browser and click on Gather instead hitting "refresh" and click on gather you simply click on gather and it loads the Next Gather to sign up = 1 less page refresh every time.
4) The Timestamp (is the time of the message) @gatherchat and shoutbox
should be in front of the Username not behind (because 90% of all message programs on the pc do it like that its easier to see)
5) if you try to write a forum post and you want to put in a url or a image in there are no buttons at all with these functions every modern forum/board website/software has these please insert them here to (BB Code ect)
6) there should be visible when sombody edit his post @forum/board it should automatical can add at the bottom line: (last edited on date time by Name)
Things that i allready mentioned and im not sure if they where heard are:
9) The Match schedule should have a box to click in and see the old matches with results and stream links kinda like a "spoiler function" @forums (since you delated the highlightbox)
(what i initalily said was merge the "match schedule" and "highlightbox" so you have bouth informations in 1 box with some kind of history to see what got latley played (that spoiler to click and open) )
10) Gather needs a timestamp next to the person @namelist
or/and a deadmen switch that you get marked after 15 minutes as afk and get kicked after 30 minutes unless you type in the chat there
Cool stuff you might want to add and where i saw it:
11) look on the ns2-fr.com website can you see the twitch.tv script on the right side thats something you might want to add to this website too to see quickly whos streaming
(btw they have visible aswell how many are in the gather on the button)
12) the teamspeak 3 button that they have on the top of the website, something similar would be cool to bring people onto the server and communicate to each other.
13) make a steamgroup for events when a gather starts and give every gatheradmin right to create events there (or thats why it stands here, make it so that if 2-3 people join there that it sends out a steam-event automatical with the name "3/12 in the Gather" and the link http://www.ensl.org/gathers/latest/ns2 like on the old homepage)
so far the transition seems done pretty good job
hopefully i get now any kind of responses on these points
(thanks for the reaction on the not mentioned points)

I'm looking into a way to make the Gather servers list dynamic. Like it asks steam for active NS2 servers that are empty and password protected. Those servers would then show up on the list.

Looking really good, but I have to agree with the others, the font is less than ideal.

Is thtat a bug or intended?

The Match Schedule module should perhaps have a brighter font color for the times listed under each match, or at least shine up when you hover a match like the menu buttons do. This text is especially important to see clearly, in my opinion.

Also the z-index property for the dropdown section of the top navigation is messed up, it will hide menu contents behind the forum contents which is bad for obvious reasons.

I wish for a complete "Match Schedule", which you could access from a link to see previous matches (and their results) and all upcoming matches. Otherwise nice pages.

1. Are there any plans to fix the, frankly, awful look on mobile? It actually looks worse than the old one on mobile...
2. Also, like Ryysk says, its really ugly how the drop-down menus are behind the main page.
EDIT:
3. Can we make it so that when typing, you aren't pulled down to where your typing? For instance, while typing this, I scrolled up to see who mentioned the drop-down menu issue. It is a tiny thing, but still. It would stop me misspelling everyones' names :D

There are currently no plans to make a custom look for mobile. It would be a large amount of work for little results on those who'd actually view it on a phone. Tablets should look just fine.
Would really love to see a twitch streamers list on the side bar widgets (where anyone currently streaming NS2 could be listed).

er .. there's so much white space .. headers have so much spacing around them .. margins/paddings .. aren't pretty ;) .. menu ontop .. does the spacing below really need to be the same height as the actual text?
so much waste .. looks pretty .. but would look nicer if it was fixed up a bit :P

i've designed and built websites for about ten years, and i can tell you guys that nitpicking subtle design aspects of this new site is kind of a waste of time. yes, there are things that could be improved aestetically and probably functionally, but getting into which fonts look good and the use of space is probably not worthwhile (though i'll admit this font is terrible in terms of readability). this gets the job done pretty well, it's very functional and friendly, and that's the most important thing.
so, what should definitely be improved? mobile layout! the thing doesn't have to be totally responsive, but all of your css breaking on a smartphone is no longer an option. i guarantee a significant portion of visits to this site are from mobile devices.
edit: okay, it's completely terrible that the textarea that you edit your post in uses electrolize. no body text should ever be in electrolize, it's unreadable at smaller sizes.

Stil hoping for a "Available-Merc" area, where mercs can Sign up if they have time today and teams if in need can take a look!

What ABadHabit said, hopefully also with a place where teams can put themselves on a list if they are in need of a match. I think that could help get more diverse pcw opponents and generally help set up pcws on-the-fly.
As others say, some of the fonts are a bit annoying to read. Could be great if that could be changed.
On another note, I tried adding a new movie in Agenda, but got this message:
You are not allowed to visit the page you were looking for.
The administrator of this web site has denied access to you at this time.
Not sure if it is just broken or if it is because I need to be added to the "moviemaker" group on the page. If the latter is true, I'd like to be added.
Also some minor stuff, the header (or whatever it's called) still says ENSL. Will the domain change to nsleagues.org (obviously having ensl.org redirect to there)?
