Have played for a long time and a few pugs. Looking to join a casual team low division.

Have you looked into the Newcomer-Tournament, yet? I'd be surprised to not see an NA-team, there:

there are a few things you can do to improve your comp ability. 1) there are some public servers that cater to captains, this is a slightly more organized way of playing 2) Reddit pugs, there is a mumble server and a classic comp 6v6 games going on. First 12 play in that area. Skill is wide ranged from premier down to div 4, all playing together. Most of the players are helpful and are open to assisting you.

Thanks Jope!

I do really like the captains servers - played on one last night in fact. I've played a couple Mumble pugs and I was always the lowest skill player, but they were super fun.

The reddit pugs can be a little intimidating at first. But generally, if you are outward with your skill abilities then the reception and ability to assist becomes more favorable. But pugs are there to get better, learn and if it works out, get a couple wins. obviously winning takes top stage to some people, but i would say its more the minority. that is, for pugs.
