You could always use an equalizer to mute certain frequency ranges. Although this would obviously mute everything within the given range and you may lose something like skulk footsteps...
OP does not want to deactivate the sound for all players but for himself. In this case he would not hear himself firing but other players would not notice a difference. If it was an option in menu he could just switch between sound / no_sound depending on the team he plays on. Just as a heads up.
Pretty sure 100% of skulks wait for marines to fire before they move at some point in almost every round. So this sounds ridiculous
