It is very unintuitive that you would stay registered if you left the website (which can mean, you shut down your computer, etc)
And the really difficult thing for new comers is: It is no-where mentioned that it behaves that way. Which then results in a lot of frustration from oldies and calls for bans.
Shouldn't software behave in the way one would expect it to behave? Thus I suggest to have people be auto-removed as soon as they leave the website or at least to make it very clear somewhere that you will stay registered until you personally click that X next to your name to unregister.
